Quick start
Mac · iPhone · iPad · Apple Watch · Windows
Nothing to read up on. A short assistant opens on first launch, Skip works on every step, and you can do everything later in the settings.
-
Get the app
Mac from the Mac App Store, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch from the App Store, Windows from this site. All three are free.
-
Look around in demo mode
Demo mode fills every card with sample figures — no account, no key, nothing to enter. It is in the app on all three platforms, and it is the fastest way to see whether the cockpit shows what you need.
-
Connect your accounts
The cockpit reads your accounts. The subscriptions and API credit it shows are ones you already hold and pay for at the providers themselves.
The assistant starts with your subscriptions — Claude, ChatGPT/Codex and Copilot — and folds the developer keys away (from Mac 7.8, iPhone 2.19 and Windows 1.11). You never type a password into AI Cockpit: the app opens the sign-in page of Anthropic or OpenAI, you sign in there, and the app receives only an access token that stays on that device.
Tech info
- Mac
- macOS 14 and later. Lives in the menu bar; one keyboard shortcut opens the panel. From the Mac App Store.
- iPhone · iPad · Watch
- iOS 17 and later, watchOS 10 and later. The phone fetches everything itself — no Mac has to be awake. The Apple Watch comes with the iPhone app.
- Windows
- Windows 11, x64 and ARM64. Lives in the notification area. Setup per user, no administrator rights. The files are not signed: Windows calls it an unrecognized app, and you get past that with More info → Run anyway. Why →
- Services
- Claude, ChatGPT & Codex, the Anthropic API, the OpenAI API, Kimi K3, OpenRouter, Grok, GitHub Copilot and DeepSeek — up to eleven cards with a second Claude account and the Claude Code sessions. Add only what you use.
- Sign-in
- The subscription cards need no API key — you just sign in. The API cards need a key; for OpenAI and Anthropic an admin key. Why →
- Keys
- Sign-ins and keys stay in your device’s secure storage: Keychain on Mac and iPhone, Credential Manager on Windows. On each device you sign in once yourself; the devices share no sign-ins or keys.
- Data
- Direct connection to the official APIs — no server of mine in between. The app only reads; it creates, changes and deletes nothing. No browser cookies, no usage data, no ads. Security →
- Updates
- Mac and iPhone through the App Store. Windows tells you when a new version is out; you install it by hand. How →
- Languages
- English, German, French, Simplified Chinese, Hindi and Spanish (four of them from Mac 7.8, iPhone 2.19 and Windows 1.11).
- Cost
- Free. No account with me, no subscription, no pro tier. An optional tip in the App Store apps unlocks nothing.
