What's new in AI Cockpit for Windows 1.4

Built and tested, not yet published. It will appear as a test build on GitHub, like 1.3. This page describes what it brings.

The same numbers as on the Mac — used or remaining, with a time marker for over or under plan — and fewer requests.

New

• Used or remaining. A new choice under Settings → Display → Percentages shows every quota as used (the default, as before) or as what is left — on card rows, bars and trend lines, collapsed cards, the key figures bar, and the ring and tooltip in the notification area. Claude, ChatGPT, Kimi, OpenRouter, Grok and the OpenAI budget bars all follow it. Where there is room, the word “remaining” stands next to the number.
• The colour stays honest. Warnings follow usage, on the ring too: 90 % remaining stays green. Only the number flips, never the traffic light.
• Codex credits at a glance. The credit balance already stood on the ChatGPT card; now it also shows on the collapsed card and as a line in the tooltip of the tray icon, e.g. “ChatGPT: 12.3 credits” — without an extra request.
• A time marker in the bar. A line in text colour, reaching above and below the bar, shows how much of the window has passed. Below the bar it says “15 % over plan” (in orange), “on plan” or “under plan”. For Claude (both accounts, including model windows) and ChatGPT. It moves every minute while the panel is open. Switch it off under Settings → Display (“Time marker in the bar”, on by default). The tray tooltip adds the plan status when it fits.
• Time until reset. Next to the clock time the card says how long is left: “Resets 14:30 · in 1 h 42 min”, from a day on “in 3 d 4 h”.

Changed

• Calmer refresh intervals. Claude and ChatGPT/Codex every 3 minutes, all other cards every 5 minutes. Only intervals still on the old default move; your own choices stay. Refresh still fetches at once.
• Slower when a service throttles. From the second 429 within an hour, that card is checked half as often (3 → 6 → 12 minutes, at most 15), and one step faster again per quiet hour. Retry-After is still honoured.
• Random offset of 0–20 seconds per fetch, so the cards do not all ask at once. Not for the sessions card, which reads local files every 2 seconds.
• A changed interval applies from the next fetch, not only after a restart.
• Rounding like the Mac. Percentages round half away from zero (72.5 → 73; before 72). Used and remaining always add up to 100, and values above 100 show as 100 %.

Good to know

• The context window on the sessions card always reads as used: it is not a quota. Notifications and thresholds keep speaking of usage.
• Windows has no widgets — the notification area is its glance view.
• Windows 11, x64 and ARM. Unsigned test build, no automatic updates.
